How to effectively connect customers, suppliers, and employees during Mercator’s 75th anniversary celebration, while emphasizing that Mercator is not just a store but a key contributor to shaping and developing neighborhoods and local communities for decades?

Solution

The campaign “A Good World Begins with Good Neighbors” emphasizes the importance of mutual relationships and neighborhood connections.
Since store clerks know customers’ lives and needs best, the communication is built around their stories.
To inspire and give emotional strength to the campaign, we chose Vlado Kreslin’s song “Ena pesem”, which highlights Mercator’s long-standing role in the lives of local communities.

The store clerks know their customers’ habits best, so we entrusted the communication and storytelling in the TV and online ads to sales assistant Majda and procurement colleague Nada.
“Mercator is the neighbor who has accompanied us for decades at every step and in every neighborhood. Especially in smaller communities, store clerks live alongside their neighbors and know their personal stories — and this is exactly what makes Mercator unique, something becoming rare in today’s urban environment. Vlado Kreslin sincerely sings about this in the song we chose as the soundtrack,” says Miha Bevc, creative director and partner at the agency.

Besides advertising activities, we prepared special sales offers for customers and internal activities for employees as part of the loyalty program celebrating the anniversary.
